What I Want To Do When I Grow Up

A wise man once said "Find a way to get paid to do what you want, and you will never work a day in your life." For me, there's no better occupation than with DARPA, at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
I've always had a fascination with military technology, stretching all the way from feudal Japan to modern America.
Plus, military service has been a theme in my family three generations deep.  More to follow later.

  3. @mentalchaos - back about 6 years ago, a weapons platform was in development (far enough along to be publicly known) that revolutionized projectile technology. Essentially, the designers removed all the moving parts from a typical "gun" and left only the propellant, bullet, and barrel, and replaced the firing pin with an electrode; and instead of one barrel, an array of hundreds in a grid arraingement. The project at the time was dubbed Metal Storm, and test results showed a firing rate in the millions of rounds a minute. The GE M137 minigun was the fastest firing weapon at the time, with a rate of thousands per minute.

  5. Your quote in your post "It basically says to work on the details of your life, and your karma will handle the larger concepts - in other words, don't sweat the big stuff" these are great words to live by.
